Did you know that the Capital of the Lone Star Republic was the birthplace of the international standard now known as "Energy Star ratings”?

, Principal | FAIA at Barley Pfeiffer Architecture, was on the Austin-based committee assembled in the early 1980’s tasked with finding an energy solution that would help efficiently power our not-so-sleepy city and avoid another unpopular nuclear power plant being built in Austin, Texas.

The result was "Austin Energy Star” program which the US Federal Government eventually took over.
